SUCESSFUL SOCIAL INTERACTION IS DEPENDENT ON FAIRNESS.

Fairness Intro
Fairness is one of the most important and fundamental ideas involved in social
interaction of any kind and unfairness is at the source of anti-social behavior.
Most people assume that they have a general sense of what fairness is. At the same
time actually trying to pin it down and apply consistent criteria to complex
situations can be very difficult. Most cultures on every continent, even the
original cultures, have some version of this concept. Often the idea of fairness
sounds a lot like the golden rule. Considering the timing of original continental
migrations, the sense of fairness has been around for tens of thousands of years.
Fairness must be an absolute necessity for any sustainable socio-cultural
propagation. It seems to have emerged with human culture and societies.
There have been some individuals who work harder to 'beat the system' than to maintain
it for as long as there has been culture.
What I call the 'Fairness Ensemble' is an integrated (interdependent) system
of concepts evolved in particular cultures or subcultures to minimize conflict and
facilitate cooperation. There are many other very old concepts that are somewhat
universal in many cultures around the world that have included themselves in the
thinking about fairness many millennia before I started calling them an ensemble.
Responsibility, truth, trust, cooperation, teamwork, respect, trade, and sharing, are
just a few interdependent social concepts that support and enhance the value of each
other. The few that I have chosen to mention gives an hint at the variety of directions
that fairness propagates and enables social interaction in all cultures.
The idea of Temenos includes the intention to consolidate and integrate the most
socially functional and universally benevolent insights into the idea of fairness.
Using these patterns as open and flexible starting points we will continuously
question and refine them through real world use. The total accretion of insight
and methodologies at any given time will be the essence of 'Temenos.'
Cultures can be very anti-social and still survive for centuries using power
as their main support. For thousands of years these 'Civilizations' were
tyrannies and often they were what we would now call terrorists. Tyrannies
grossly and tenaciously distort all of fairness ensemble ideas, substituting
and enforcing use of an 'unfairness ensemble', manipulating distortions to their
advantage, yet tyranny cannot avoid being dependent on fairness for it's existence.
It is often called corruption. Temenos Nexus, LLC also sponsors efforts to sort
out the mental tools from the mental traps and propagate knowledge of 'clues' that
help to recognize each. There are generally unrecognized leverages at work and
systems of leverage are reversible. . The existing degree of freedom influences the changes that are possible.
The tyranny/corruption spectrum is dependent on some uncorrupted fairness to
sustain the society. This is one of several chinks in their armor. Another
major weakness is the necessity of using what I call "The Tools of Greed" to
control others against their will. What I call the tools of greed are force,
intimidation, fraud, and cultural mental impairment. (FIFCMI) Cultural Mental
impairment needs an intro of its own, but one other new idea needs an
introduction first. Explore the "Functional Intelligence Intro."
